One Shot to Get it Right: Tips for a great profile picture

Ladies and Gentlemen, in customer service we receive a lot of questions about profiles. And invariably when we look at your profile to give you feedback, we have one piece of advice: update your profile picture!

As Christians, we all know and understand that physical beauty is only skin deep. And beauty is also in the eye of the beholder. But we are human beings, and when we meet people in the real world, we notice physical characteristics about others. Give yourself an advantage in this online world, and have a profile picture that lets you be seen!

Five Quick Tips:

A recent picture: You may not even realize your picture is old, but is it? Even if you just have a new haircut, your picture needs to be updated.

A headshot: This means mostly your head and shoulders. Anything further away is not helpful when someone is conducting searches.

A flattering shot: What is your mother’s, your best friend’s, your child’s favorite photo of you? Make sure your photo is a great one. We all have days when we are less than photogenic. Choose a great picture.

Be natural:You don’t necessarily have to be smiling, but you should look relaxed. But a warm, friendly smile opens so many doors.

Variation is the spice of life:Our premium members have the ability to post multiple photos. But you can certainly rotate between a few favorite photos by just uploading a different picture occasionally. Keep your profile fresh!

Take a look at your profile picture today, and make sure it meets the above guidelines. It could make a huge difference. Still not sure if your photo is okay? E-mail us. We’re happy to look at your photo.
